Wine – Making Process: Skin contact at low temperature and classic vinification process for the white varieties, Malagouzia and Assyrtiko, “blanc de noir” vinification process for the red one, Limnio, in stainless steel vats, using selected yeasts at low temperature. The final blend aged on its lees with periodical stirring in new French oak barrels for 9 months.
Features: Bright, straw blonde colour. Complex nose with fine aromas of citrus, white-fleshed fruit, aroma of acacia flowers, chamomile, hazelnut with hints of toasted bread and white pepper. Rich, powerful, full bodied with fine balance of intense acidity and a long, complex finish.
Pairings: Lobster or crawfish dishes, large fish on charcoal or chicken dishes with white sauces.
Explore Domaine Porto Carras: Domaine Porto Carras is one of the most influential Greek wineries of the last 50 years. Originally conceived by the viticulture department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and assisted by the Ministry of Agriculture, the Porto Carras winery was built in 1970 on the limestone slopes of Mount Meliton near Halkidiki. Today it is surrounded by 450 hectares of vineyards boasting 26 different international and indigenous grape varieties.
