BOSCO DEL MERLO, VINEARGENTI

Designer label, signed by internationally renowned artist Fabrizio Plessi. The label, created at the beginning of the new millennium, depicts a vine originating from a TV set flooded with wine, representing the powerful bond that unites modernity and tradition.

Producer: Bosco del Merlo

Region: Veneto

Country: Italy

Colour: Red

Grape varieties: Merlot and Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso

Vineyards: This reserve is obtained from a blend of 70% Merlot, an international grape variety, and 30% Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, an indigenous grape variety. Both are grown in the Lison area, which enjoys high suitability for red grapes. The result of multiple harvesting steps, of selections in the same plot where very few bunches per plant are brought to the required levels of maturity. Thanks to the long refinement, the wine finds a very good balance and quality.

In the basement: After the late harvest, the two varieties are vinified separately with long macerations of about 30-35 days. The two wines age in carats of only French wood for 15 months; in this phase the barrique becomes one oenological tool to enhance and balance the natural intensity and power of wine. Once the best barriques have been chosen, the wines are blended and transferred to 30 hl oak barrels for about six months. Then follows the refinement in the bottle.

Tasting notes:

Bouquet: Intense, fruity, spicy, with scents of tobacco and chocolate.

Food pairings: It accompanies fine red meat, roasts and mature cheeses. Perfect with roast pork shank.
