Presenting itself as the “flame of the terroir”, this is another example of the small scale producers that define the Armagnac industry. Prince D’Arignac is so largely unknown that it has previously been mistaken as an obscure independent bottler of Armagnac. It is in fact a producer from Armagnac. It is not, however, found in the French town of Arignac, which does not lie in the Armagnac region. The title of Prince D’Arignac is not related to any one prince or individual, and It should also be noted that this is not related to the Baron d’Arignac brand of wines. This spirit is at least 2 years old but defies its age to be a deeply flavoursome Armagnac. The flavours are fresh and spirituous, with notes of hay, fresh green apples and white grapes, whilst the mouthfeel is oily and rich. This is excellent value for money and would be perfect as an alternative spirit base in cocktails.

Tasting notes:

Colour: Golden, shimmering.

Nose: Floral notes, honey, lime blossom.

Palate: Rounded, spicy, powerful finish tasting of liquorice.

Recommendations: As a long drink, as an after-dinner drink or for cooking.

Service conditions: Serve at room temperature.
